Dear Parents and Guardians,
A warm welcome to the Ysgol Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll family! We are very much looking forward to welcoming your child to the Meithrin (Nursery) class in September – an exciting time for you as a family and for us as a school.
Before then, we would like to explain the care provision around the school day. We have shared this information before, but not everyone received it – and there has been some confusion, confusion we no doubt contributed to ourselves!
The morning
The morning provision has two parts:
- Morning Care Club: 8:00–8:25
- Breakfast Club: 8:25–8:45
The Breakfast Club is free and open to all Meithrin children. Unfortunately, the Morning Care Club is not open to Meithrin children. Caring for children of Meithrin age needs more staff than we have during this part of the morning.
In the past, we allowed Meithrin children to attend in the company of an older brother or sister, but that was unfair on the siblings – and if the brother or sister is in the Derbyn (Reception) class, they can hardly be much help!
Registering for the Breakfast Club
If you would like to register your child for the Breakfast Club, please fill in the form below – one form for each child:
https://forms.gle/J8nLk6uSDq24f4Ph6
But if you need care before 8:25 – don't worry. The Cylch Meithrin, on the school site, runs a morning breakfast club – and they will bring your child over to the school ready for the start of the day at 9:00. You can contact the Cylch on 01248 716823.
Clwb y Gollen – the after-school club
Meithrin children do not normally use Clwb y Gollen. School finishes at 3:00 and the club does not start until 3:15 – that quarter of an hour creates a staffing problem for care.
In exceptional circumstances, when brothers or sisters use the club, we try to help. To arrange this, contact the club directly: cyg@ysgolllanfairpwll.org.
We look forward to September, and to a special first year for your child at Ysgol Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll.
Yours sincerely,
Gwyn Pleming
