Dear Parents and Carers,

Croeso nôl. The staff are in school today getting classrooms ready, and the building is far too quiet. We are looking forward to the noise coming back when the children return on Wednesday 2 September.

Three things to share before term starts.

1. Our new school system: Bromcom

The school has moved to Bromcom. From now on, letters, reminders and school messages will come to you through the MyChildAtSchool app rather than our old system. Please download it and keep notifications switched on so nothing is missed. If your login details have not arrived, tell us and we will send them again.

Our morning care club, 8.00–8.25am, is open for booking now on MyChildAtSchool. It costs £1.65 a session, and care after 8.25 is free. The club starts on Wednesday 2 September. You can book any morning, as long as you book before the session starts.

2. Diolch, Mrs Backhouse

Mrs Wendy Backhouse retired over the summer holidays. Wendy answered our phone, knew every family by name and held this school together from the office for many years. We will miss her, and we wish her a long and happy retirement.

3. Mrs Meryl Goulding

Governors have appointed Mrs Meryl Goulding as our new School Administrator. She takes up her post at the end of September, and we look forward to welcoming her.

How to contact us until then

The office phone will not be answered as often during September. We would be grateful if you could:

• Use Seesaw first for anything about your child. It goes straight to their teacher and is the quickest way to an answer
• Email me at 6602152_pennaeth.llanfairpwll@Hwbcymru.net if the matter is for the school rather than the classroom, or if you have already raised something with the teacher
• Contact Mr Jones, our Deputy Headteacher, at jonesg125@hwbcymru.net
• Leave a phone message if you need to. We will return it, though it may not be the same day

Ring the school for anything urgent or anything that needs an answer the same day: illness, absence, a change to who collects your child, or a safeguarding concern. Someone will pick up for those calls. They come first.

With all this in mind, September will be a demanding month, and we would appreciate your patience.
